Project hepBccc: New funding for research using mass spec equipment Project hepBccc: New funding for research using mass spec equipment
The international research project “Host factors in hepatitis B virus cccDNA formation as novel antiviral targets and biomarkers – identification, preclinical evaluation and impact for liver disease (hepBccc)” within the ERA-NET call Infect-ERA
will be conducted at IFB UG&MUG.
Prof. Krzysztof Bielawski and his research group succeeded as the only Polish team in this call for proposals, securing a budget of about EUR 300.000 for their research. They will cooperate under project coordination by Prof. Michael Nassal from the University Hospital Freiburg with other European research units, such as the University of Strasbourg (FR), University of Leuven (BE), Vironexx (FR) and the Institute of Genetic and Molecular Cellular Biology (FR) during 36 months. The state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facility established within MOBI4Health will be intensively used in the research work conducted within hepBccc, providing a synergy of these two projects.
